KATHMANDU, Jan 9: The Thamel Tourism Development Council has apprehended a Canadian citizen accused of troubling businesspersons and handed him to the Department of Immigration. A team from the council with the help of the Kathmandu Police arrested him on Sunday from the Thamel area.
The man has been accused of troubling his landlord and businesspersons and was allegedly involved in illicit activities, said the council’s President Bhabishwor Sharma. He overstayed his visa as well.

"The man was held after a complaint was filed that he robbed businesspersons and his landlord as well as tourists visiting Thamel of their belongings," said Sharma, adding that the department would initiate the process to deport him to his home country.
