KATHMANDU, March 1: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has prepared to send Sandeep Lamichhane, the former captain of the Nepali cricket team, to the UAE by this evening.
CAN Acting Secretary Durga Raj Pathak said that they are preparing to send Sandeep to the UAE to participate in the ICC World Cup League-2 cricket one-day series involving the UAE, Papua New Guinea and Nepal.
Sandeep Lamichhane flies to UAE, will play tomorrow's match
Only on Monday, a joint bench of Supreme Court Justices Sapana Malla Pradhan and Kumar Chudal upheld the Patan High Court’s bail order and allowed Lamichhane to go abroad. Although the ICC has not yet decided about Sandeep Lamichhane, CAN has said that they are trying to send Lamichhane to the UAE by this evening.
Tomorrow there will be a match between Nepal and the UAE. CAN Acting Secretary Pathak informed Republica that as Lamichhane is allowed to go abroad to play matches, he will be able to play tomorrow's match. Nepal defeated Papua New Guinea in a match. Out of eight matches of the ICC World Cup League-2, the remaining four matches will be played in Nepal.
