KATHMANDU, Sept 10: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has bid farewell to Nepali National Cricket Team which is going to participate in ICC World Cup League-2 in Canada. Nepali team will depart for Canada tonight.
During their visit to Canada, Nepal will play a triangular One Day International (ODI) series with Canada and Oman, starting from September 16 and conclude on September 26. Nepal is to take on Canada on September 16 and 22, while Oman on September 18 and 24.
Following the ODI for League-2, a T-20 series will start on September 28 and conclude on October 3.
A total of 12 matches will be played, with six games in each series (ODI and T-20). Nepal will play eight matches in total.
Following Canada's visit, Nepal is scheduled to head to the USA for another series in October, where they will play against the hosts and Scotland.
Road to ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 starts in September
This will be Nepal’s second League-2 series in Canada. Previously, Nepal played the first series on home ground, where they managed to win only one out of the four matches against the Netherlands and Namibia.
CAN has announced a 16-member team for the tour of Canada including Rohit Paudel (captain), Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Anil Shah, Bhim Sharki, Aarif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh Airee, Arjun Saud, Sompal Kami, Karan KC, Gulshan Kumar Jha, Rijan Dhakal, Sandeep Lamichhane, Lalit Rajbanshi and Dev Khanal (Travelling Reserve).
Jagat Tamata has been appointed as the consultant coach for the tour of Canada and America.
