RAUTAHAT, Feb 6: Cameras that were installed in a forest of Rautahat to count tigers are missing. The cameras were set up by the National Trust for Nature Conservation and the National Park and Divisional Forest Office for counting tigers in the forest.

Two of the cameras installed in the Paurai forest area of ​​the district are missing. Wildlife Technician Tikaram Tharu said that two cameras installed in the Paurai forest area have been lost. It is feared that the tiger census will be affected as the cameras kept for counting the tigers are missing.

It is estimated that the number of tigers in the forest of Rautahat has started increasing. Last year's census found four tigers in the forest. The tigers are being counted to determine the number of tigers in the district's forests in a year. Meanwhile, 122 cameras have been installed in the forest of the district in the possible habitats of tigers and places they would visit for drinking water.

Cameras have been installed for counting tigers in the forest areas of the district including Dhansar Khola, Gaindatar, Judibela, Chocha, Simri, Nunthar, Paurai and Rangpur. Wildlife technician Tharu claimed that two of the cameras connected for the tiger census are missing and are being searched for. Cameras have been installed in the forest area of ​​the district for counting tigers and the forest office has issued a public notice not to touch them.
