Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF) releases its film line...
If you are a film maker and looking for an opportunity to showcase your film, then the fourth Nepal International Film Festival (NIFF) could be your perfect destination.
According to a press statement released by Nepal Film and Cultural Academy (NFCA), it has announced the fourth iteration of its annual film and cultural event NIFF, slated to be held in Kathmandu, from 24-28 February 2021.
With this announcement, NFCA also opens the call for entries, for film makers to submit their films for NIFF 2021. Film makers interested in participating and exhibiting their works at NIFF 2021’s film programs can submit their films before the final deadline of 30 November 2020.
With an underlying theme of ‘Celebration of narratives’, NIFF as always aims to explore the world, with local and global narratives, with our audience. In keeping with this tradition, NIFF 2021 aims to explore the most prevalent global narrative of today; the ongoing COVID pandemic. To do so, NIFF 2021 will host a separate film competition (for shorts and documentaries) called the Pandemic Film Exhibit, to screen films based on the current pandemic and other epidemics in the recent past, their impacts on society and culture. This will be a competitive screening, with a trophy as well as a cash prize of $US 500 for the winning film.
All submissions in the international competitions have entry fees, and submissions in the national competitions are free-of-cost. Standard entry fees (US$) for feature, documentary, short and the pandemic film programs are $20, $15, $15 and $10 respectively as per the press statement.
