KATHMANDU, Jan. 14: Leaders of different political parties have demanded to book the guilty persons involved in the procurement of two wide body aircraft for the Nepal flag carrier- Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).

At an interaction organized by the Reporters' Club today, they said that whoever either former prime ministers, ministers or government officials involved in the procurement scam should be punished.

Earlier, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the House of Representatives had recommended to the government and anti-graft body Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) to probe into the wrongdoings and take actions against those involved in the purchase of the wide body aircrafts.

During the programme, Nepal Communist Party leader Khagaraj Adhikari said that no one involved in the procurement process should be spared at a time when the government is mulling for corruption-free status in the country.
He also said that the fast-unto-death of Prof Dr Govinda KC is meaningless as the government and the parliament has already met the demands of agitating Dr KC.
Likewise, NC leader Ramkrishna Yadav said that even the former prime minister if found guilty in the planes procurement should be punished.

Also speaking at the programme, member of PAC Pradip Yadav expressed his displeasure arguing that the PAC President deleted the issue of taking action to sitting minister and former ministers for their involvement in the wide body procurement scam.
