BARA, Jan 26: Entrepreneurs, locals and cadres of political parties have picketed the district administration office demanding that Kalaiya Municipality be created as Sub Metropolitan City.

The Bara district administration office was picketed for two hours from 10 am to 12 am.

Political parties and businessmen have been hitting the streets for the last three weeks under the leadership of Bara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, saying that the Local Reconstruction Bodies Commission (LRBC) did not submit the report to the government t to this effect.

The agitation started in Kalaiya after the LRBC recommended forming Jitpur-Simara Sub Metropolitan City by amalgamating some VDCs in the Gadhimai Municipality.

“We picketed District Administration Office demanding some rectification in the decision of the LRBC as it has marred Kaliya people, said Bara Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Binod Sah.
