KATHMANDU, Sept 14: The government on Wednesday fixed places to establish seven high courts, one each in seven provinces, as designated by the constitution.

A meeting Council of Ministers held this evening fixed Biratnagar, Janakpur, Patan, Pokhara, Tulasipur, Birendranagar and Dipayal to establish high courts.

Parliament on Sunday had endorsed three inter-related bills, paving the way for establishing seven high courts as part of the implementation of the new constitution.

The meeting decided not to sign new agreements and treaties during the India visit by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and to rectify old treaties from which Nepal failed to take advantages. PM Dahal is embarking on a four-day visit tomorrow.

Likewise, the meeting appointed Kulman Ghising as Acting Chief of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).
