KATHMANDU, Sept 22: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has urged one and all not to fly kites, drones and balloons around the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
CAAN Spokesperson and Deputy Director General, Jagannath Niraula, said cases of flying kites, drones and balloons in the airport vicinity have been reported despite a prohibition for the same, posing a severe threat to aviation safety. The situation has prompted the aviation regulating body to urge all to not repeat such acts any more.
Flying Kites during Dashain
The risk is potentially high during Dashain and Tihar as these festivals are marked by kites and balloons flying.
The CAAN issued a public notice on Friday asking for no activities that affect the flight safety, and warned of action if the request was violated.
