CAAN directs airline companies to clear due amount

KATHMANDU, Feb 24: l Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has instructed the airline companies to pay the dues before taking the summer schedule.


After not being able to collect estimated due amounts from the airlines, the CAAN wrote a letter to the airlines on Thursday directing them to clear the dues.


The CAAN issued the letter to all the airline companies that operate scheduled domestic flights, including Nepal Airlines Corporation. These include Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines, Shree Airlines, Summit Air, Tara Air, Guna Air, Sita Air and Saurya Airlines.

The CAAN instructed all airlines to submit the summer schedule by February 28. The body has also asked them to pay the arrears for operating services at various airports which should have been made clear by December 31, 2022 before submitting the summer schedule.


Helicopter companies must pay dues before taking flight permit


The CAAN has also sent letters to all the helicopter companies on Thursday. The civil aviation authority has instructed the helicopter companies to pay the dues to the airports before obtaining the flight permit from the head office.


According to the CAAN, the flight permit will be given only after showing proof of payment of the entire amount due which should have been cleared by 31 December 2022.
