KATHMANDU, Sept 27: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has requested people not to fly kites near the airport premises saying that it might disrupt the flight security.
Issuing a notice regarding kites flying on Thursday morning, the CAAN warned, "Anyone going beyond the rule will be severely punished."
Specially the school students tend to fly kites ahead of the national festival Dashain starting mid-August until October.

“Departures and take offs are highly affected due to flying kites, hence we are bound to issue a notice,” said Buddhi Sagar Lamichhane, joint secretary at the CAAN.
The pilots have, time and again, faced difficulties to take off and and land. However, no accidents has been recorded to date, Lamichhane further added.
Also many helicopters are seen to be flying in low aviation from the human settlements.
