BUSINESS BRIEFS: Chhimek Dev Bank to issue right shares

KATHMANDU, June 7: Chhimek Development Bank has appointed NMB Bank as its sales manager for its 2:1 right issues.



Ram Chandra Joshi, chief executive officer of Chhimek Development Bank, and Upendra Poudel, chief executive officer of NMB Bank, signed an agreement to this effect. [break]



“Our sales manager will issue shares at the earliest,” Chhimek Development Bank said in a statement.





NIBL in Lagankhel



KATHMANDU, June 7: Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIBL) has opened its 40th branch in Lagankhel of Lalitpur. The branch is connected to all other 39 branches of the bank around the country with ABBS (Any Branch Banking Service).



“The branch provides deposit and credit facility, foreign exchange, retail banking, import, export, letters of credit, guarantees and remittances, locker facility, 365 days service, ATM facility and multiple teller counters, among other updated banking services,” the bank said in a statement.



The new branch is in tune with the bank´s policy to expand its branch network and provide exceptional banking services within all major pockets of the country, both within and outside the Kathmandu Valley, the bank said.





NIC Bank opens branch in Mahendranagar



KATHMANDU, June 7: NIC Bank established its 25th branch at Bhimdutta Nagar (Mahendranagar) in the far-western region.



“Hem Bikram Thapa, president of Kanchanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Jagdish Pasad Agrawal, chairman of the bank, inaugurated the new branch,” the bank said in a statement received on Monday. The bank has 25 branches, including nine in the Kathmandu Valley, across the country.



The bank has a network of 25 ATM terminals. It recently launched internet banking and NIC Visa debit card.



The bank recently received ISO 9001: 2008 certifications from URS Ltd, UK.





Machhapuchhre´s new deposit scheme



KATHMANDU, June 7: Machhapuchhre Bank Ltd on Sunday introduced Ladder Saving Deposit scheme.



Under the new scheme, the customer depositing the highest amount under this account gets priority and interest rate up to 11 percent from the bank. The minimum balance required to open this account is Rs 100,000 and the interest rate is calculated on the daily basis. The interest amount is deposited in the account of the customer every quarter.



“Customer of this account also gets the free accident insurance worth Rs 500,000. People using this account gets the facilities like ABBS (Any Branch Banking Service, free check book, internet banking, ATM/ debit card, telephone and mobile bill payment, SMS banking, safe deposit locker, travelers check and 50 percent discount on the good for payment of checks,” the bank said in a statement.





Colourful Meet 2010 concludes



KATHMANDU, June 7: Asian Paints has concluded its "Colourful Meet 2010" in Pokhara.



Dealers and their families from various locations across Nepal attended the meet, Asian Paints said in a statement received on Monday. The three-day trip with exotic stay at The Fulbari Resort, fun games, lucky draw, live entertainment programs and dance were the main attraction of the excursion," the statement said.



Budhaitya Mukherjee, general manager of Asian Paints Nepal, along with other company employees were present in this exciting excursion.
