Bus-tipper collision injures 7 in Dumre

Seven passengers were injured when a bus collided with a tipper at Dumre in the Tanahu district.

KATHMANDU, May 20: Seven passengers were injured when a bus collided with a tipper at Dumre in the Tanahu district.


The District Police Office of Tanahun reported that a tipper (Bagmati Province 01-001-A-Yu 0057) traveling in the opposite direction collided with the bus (Province 1-01-001 Kha 4152) traveling from Rukum West to Kathmandu.

The injured include Harichandra Khatri, 49, from Banekot Rural Municipality-7; Chandrabahadur Rawal, 35, from Musikot Municipality; Bindu Oli, 17, and Bhadrabahadur Wali, 50, from Sanibheri Municipality-4; and Sharmila Pandey, 35, from an unspecified rural municipality in Rukum West. The crash also injured the bus driver, Sanjog Nepali, 30, from Nuwakot, and the tipper driver, Shankar Adhikari, 44, from Bhanu Municipality-12, Tanahun.


The District Police Office of Tanahun stated that Harichandra Khatri fractured his leg in the accident. Authorities transported him to Chitwan Medical College for treatment.


Police added that the remaining injured individuals are in normal condition and are undergoing treatment at Laxmi Hospital in Dumre.
