Burj Khalifa lights up Nepali Flag to celebrate Nepal’s Constitution Day

KATHMANDU, Sept 20: The world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, celebrated Nepal's Constitution Day by illuminating in the colors of the country’s flag on Saturday evening.

KATHMANDU, Sept 20: The world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, celebrated Nepal's Constitution Day by illuminating in the colors of the country’s flag on Saturday evening.


On the occasion of the Constitution Day of Nepal, the national flag was displayed for a minute at the 163-story building that stands at 828 meters (2,716.5 feet).


The Nepali flag was displayed at the request of the Nepalese Embassy to the UAE government. According to the Nepali Embassy in the UAE, the tower lit up with Nepal’s flag at 9:45 pm local time.

The skyscraper is known for displaying flags of various countries on their Independence Day and many other special occasions. The national flag of Nepal was displayed for the first time at the Burj Khalifa on this day last year.


The video of the short event was also posted on its official twitter handle @burjkhalifa where many Nepalis commented with thankful and appreciative remarks.


“Thank you so much. Love from Nepal,” commented a user with twitter handle @Nepal_tbn. Another user @johanbiju commented “Sending wishes to Nepal on its constitution day from India.”
