BIRATNAGAR, May 28: Budget session of Koshi province assembly is starting from today. The meeting of the provincial assembly, which was adjourned after the name of the province was changed to Koshi on March 1, will start from today.

The security of Biratnagar has been tightened after the province chief Parshuram Khapung summoned a meeting of the provincial assembly. Security has been tightened in Biratnagar, the capital of the state, as the group, which has been expressing dissatisfaction with the name Koshi, has warned of intensifying protests centered around Biratnagar.

The local administration has imposed a curfew at various places in Biratnagar. The local administration has declared restricted areas to the Biratnagar-based Chief Minister and Council of Ministers' office, Chief Minister's residence, Province Chief's residence, Provincial Assembly Secretariat and District Administration Office.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the naming on the basis of geography, the agitating Province-1 Re-naming Struggle Committee, demanding renaming on the basis of ethnic identity, has prepared to start a protest centered on Biratnagar and hold a demonstration in Biratnagar today.
