Kathmandu: The British Council Nepal awarded International Schools Award to 25 Nepali schools and reaccredited one school at an event on Sunday at The British School, Sanepa Height, Lalitpur. 

The fifth installment of the award was endorsed and supported by the Ministry of Education, as per the press statement released by the British Council Nepal. The award was handed over by chief guest and special guest, British Ambassador to Nepal Richard Morris and Director General of Department of Education, Babu Ram Paudel, respectively.

As many as 47 schools from 14 districts of Nepal had submitted their dossier out of more than 100 schools initially working on International School Award. One school that was awarded in 2013 has been reaccredited for ISA awards this year.

The schools receiving the full award were provided with a trophy, and certificates and will be allowed to use the coveted International School Award kite mark along with their school logo on all the official stationeries and promotional materials for a period of three years. 

The press statement quoted Richard Morris as saying, “Our education system recognizes that we need to support our students become global citizens. Here in Nepal and around the world, British Council works to create friendly knowledge and understanding between the people of UK and Nepal. It works in the education sector and society to help transform national education system, build more inclusive and open society and increases young people’s opportunity. 

The International School Awards encourages in bringing young people and educational institutes from UK and around the world together to learn from each other, build trust and lay foundation for prosperity and security around the world.”
