Boy drowns in pond

LAHAN, Aug 21: A four-year-old boy drowned in a pond at Gol Bazaar Municipality – 1 on Saturday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Badri Mahato's four-year-old son, Shanker Mahato, of the same locality.

The boy had gone out to take a swim with his elder sister to avoid the sweltering heat when the mishap occurred, Area Police Office, Gol Bazaar said. RSS
