Both balance of payments and current account in surplus

According to Nepal Rastra Bank, in US dollar terms, the BoP surplus was USD 2.95 billion in the corresponding period last year, which has increased to USD 3.23 billion during the review period.

KATHMANDU, June 10: The country’s balance of payments (BoP) surplus has increased to Rs 438.52 billion. In the same period of the previous year, the BoP surplus stood at Rs 392.64 billion.



According to Nepal Rastra Bank, in US dollar terms, the BoP surplus was USD 2.95 billion in the corresponding period last year, which has increased to USD 3.23 billion during the review period.

During the review period, the current account remained at a surplus of Rs 255.93 billion. In the same period last year, the current account had recorded a surplus of Rs 193.31 billion.


In US dollar terms, the current account, which had a surplus of USD 1.45 billion in the same period last year, rose to a surplus of USD 1.89 billion in the review period.
