KATHMANDU, July 7: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense, Bhim Rawal has said that a Border Security Post of Armed Police Force (APF) will be established at Korala border entry point soon.
Talking to Republica Online after the inspection of the checkpoint on Thursday, DPM Rawal added that a barrack of Nepali Army (NA) will also be set up in Lo Manthang.
Deputy Prime Ministers Bijay Kumar Gachhadar, Bhim Rawal and Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Minister of State for Finance Damodar Bhandari, Defense Secretary Mahesh Prasad Dahal and representatives of security bodies and Division of Roads had reached Upper Mustang through a NA chopper.
“After the inspection, we have realized that Korala entry point can be resumed easily than we had thought,” Minister Rawal told Republica Online, adding that the border transit point can be more effective in trade between Nepal and China.
Saying that the team concluded that there shouldn’t be any further delay in resuming the checkpoint, Minister Rawal said that works of upgrading the road will start at the soonest.
Republica Online had carried out a report on no presence of the state at the border entry point.
