Bomb planted near NC mayoral candidate Giri's house defused

TULSIPUR (Dang), June 27: A bomb disposal team of the Nepal Army defused an improvised explosive device planted near the house of Nepali Congress mayoral candidate of Tulasipur Sub-Metropolitan City, Gehendra Giri, at Salyan Road of Tulasipur Sub-Metropolitan City-7 on Monday night. 

Similarly, the bomb disposal team also defused another bomb kept at BP Chowk in Tulasipur on the same night, according to the District Police Office. 

Security has been tightened at all the polling centres and voting stations in the district. A total of 2,100 employees have been deployed in the election in the district. 

A total of 2,300 candidates are in election race for 520 posts in the district. The district has two sub-metropolitan cities, one municipality and seven rural municipalities where there are 251,173 voters. RSS
