KATHMANDU, Jan 28: Sisters Babita and Roshani Bom, suspects in the widely known murder case of Nirmala Pant of Kanchanpur, have said they are innocent. 

Speaking today at a press meet at the Reports Club, the Bom sisters accused human rights activist Indra Prasad Aryal of preparing a ‘false’ report about the case mentioning their names without any inquiry with them and their neighbours. Stating that such act caused mental violence against the two, they demanded an action against Aryal. 

Elder sister Babita said the ‘false’ report by the human rights activists and news contents linking their names to the case harmed their social status and caused the character assassination as well, pushing them to an adverse situation where they even could not go to school and move in public confidently. As they told, Nirmala visited them at their home as her friends for homework and left from there at 2:00 pm the day (July 26) when she was murdered after rape. 

Roshani said her sister had to spend 20 days in police detention and she herself for seven days for no reasons, appealing to the government to find out ‘real’ perpetrator(s) behind the case and ensure justice to her and heal their pains. 

Social activist Sabitri Subedi stressed that the government should find out the guilty in the case. 
Indra Bom, the mother of Babita and Roshani claimed her daughters are completely innocent. She accused the human rights activists of producing the ‘false’ report about the case and media too giving unnecessary trouble to them.
