KAPILVASTU, August 3: The body of a man who was swept away while crossing the Koili River in Banganga Municipality of Kapilvastu has been found.


Three members of the same family were swept away by the river while returning home after picking fiddlehead from the forest. They have been identified as Dil Kumar Sona Sunar,36, and his wife Ram Maya Sunar,31, and son Neeraj Sunar, 12, living in Ward 9 of the municipality.

Superintendent of Police, JC Shah said that the body of missing Dil Kumar was found on Wednesday morning at a place called Chouba, four kilometers south of the incident site. Rammaya Sunar, who went missing, was found dead on Tuesday evening, 1 km south of the river bank. Niraj Sunar was found safe on the river bank 500 meters to the south bank.


A 50-member rescue team consisting of the Nepali Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police was mobilized at the scene of the incident to search for the missing couple.
