Black is bold

Black is bold

“Black is bold, black is beautiful, black is gold”. It is a natural color, achromatic color of maximum darkness, having little to absorption of almost all lights. When we hear the word black, what comes in our minds? As a color, it is depressing, dismal, wicked, evil or just a sign of hatred. My definition is the totally opposite. The essence of the word black displays a strong feeling of rescue and all the characteristics of what the black people have overcome for many decades.

The word black describes a culture of beautiful and unique individuals. Their journey started with the period of slavery, while the black race suffered tremendously from harsh and brutal treatment, but managed to defeat. The black race is responsible for many sub-cultures in the US and around the world.

I feel that black people are one of a kind in many ways. Black women are some of the most strong-minded women I know. They have a certain mentality about themselves. Black men are some the most athletic beings I know. They might not get equality and freedom at some places and they are still sadly crippled by the manacles of separation and the chains of discrimination.

At times, being a man of color is hard due to stereotypes placed on the black race. Despite these stereotypical insights that we receive from others, I don't feel the same about this beautiful race. Black is bold, beautiful, no matter what anyone says. God creates all his children in different ways; neither one of us are the same. We all are beautiful people no matter what race we belong to. It is just up to us to realize it.

Beauty is a quality of individuals not a quality of a race. Black is a color which we ourselves distinguished, discriminate with white people. During the 60s and 70s, people like Nelson Mandela tried to give civil rights to the black people. And also Martin Luther king urged non-violent resistance and peaceful mass demonstrations.
