BIZ BRIEFS: Kansai Paints Nepal launched

KATHMANDU: Kansai Nerolac Paints, India -- a subsidiary of Kansai Paints Company, Japan -- has started operations in Nepal under the brand name Kansai Paints Nepal. According to a press statement, KNP had acquired 68 percent stake in Nepal Shalimar Paints last year by paying Rs 230 million. "Kansai Paints Nepal will utilize production facility of Nepal Shalimar Paints to manufacture Nerolac range of products that Nepal has been currently importing," said the statement. Ishino, president of Kansai Paints Company Japan; HM Bharuka, managing director of Kansai Nerolac Paints India; and Anuj Jain, director of marketing and sales (decorative) of Kansai Nerolac Paints, India were present at the launching ceremony, said the statement.



 "With our presence in about seventeen countries across the globe, it gives us immense pride to commence our operations in Nepal. This association will help us offer our international expertise and superior range of products to our consumers in Nepal,” the statement quoted Ishino. The company manufactures a diversified range of products ranging from decorative paints coatings for homes, offices, hospitals and hotels to sophisticated industrial coatings for most of the industries said the statement.



Skoda, ICIMOD partner to improve air quality

KATHMANDU : The Škoda division of MAW Enterprises and the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) have entered into a partnership to improve air quality in Nepal and raise awareness of the source of black carbon and its negative health and environmental impacts. According to a press statement issued on Sunday, the yearlong partnership will complement ongoing ICIMOD´s work related to black carbon and air pollution.  Under the partnership, 300 smoke-free cooking stoves will be purchased and distributed to households in specific villages in Makwanpur District where the Patan Academy of Health Sciences is already conducting a health impact. “MAW has been active in many Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaigns and we believe that the new project with ICIMOD will broaden MAW´s horizon of CSR activities in the environmental field,” Vishnu Agrawal, managing director of MAW, said in the statement. David Molden, director general of ICIMOD in the statement said that the company believes that as users of mountain resources, the private sector has a critical role in ensuring the long-term green economic growth of the region as well as the protection of its invaluable resources and biodiversity.



SYM provides four-year engine warranty

KATHMANDU: Shrestha Company -- the authorized dealer of SYM bikes and scooters in Nepal -- is providing four-year engine warranty on SYM scooters. According to a press statement issued on Sunday, customers will get four-year engine warranty on Jet 4 and Orbit II scooters. "SYM scooters have 6 additional features compared to other scooters available in the market. The additional features are ceramic coated cylinder, auto choke system, more ground clearance, 12 to 13 inch wheel and 7-inch tubeless tires," said the statement.



Perfect products getting good response

KATHMANDU : - Pallavi Enterprises, the distributor of Perfect computer peripherals, has been receiving good response from visitors of Info-Tech. According to a press statement issued on Sunday, the company deals on products like headphone, mouse, woofer, speaker, motherboard, and router, among others. It also sells Perfect desktops. The company is showcasing its products at Stall No. 92, 93, 124 and 125 at the Info-Tech.
