KATHMANDU, Nov 23: Hindu religious festival Biwaha Panchami is being celebrated across the country on Thursday.
According to Hindu religion, Shree Ram, the prince of Ayodhya married Sita, the daughter of King Janak in Janakpur on this day in Treta Yug. Peoples have been celebrating Biwaha Panchami festival on the same day since then.
More so celebrated with extended zeal at Janakpur, the birthplace of Sita, locals, and pilgrims from different parts of the country and India visit Janaki Mandir. The priests conduct wedding processions (Biwaha) of Ram and Sita at the evening on Thursday.
