KATHMANDU, July 31: The District Administration Office in Parsa has reimposed a prohibitory order in Birgunj, effective from 5 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday, as authorities seek to maintain public order amid ongoing protests.
The order prohibits gatherings of more than five people, public meetings, rallies and demonstrations within designated areas of Birgunj Metropolitan City. The restricted zone extends from Pratima Chowk and Bus Park Bypass Road in the east, Tilawe Bridge in the west, Gandak Chowk in the north, and Shankaracharya Gate in the south.

The local administration had imposed a similar nighttime restriction on Thursday after protests linked to the recent Sunsari incident intensified in Birgunj.
Officials said the prohibitory order has been extended as a precautionary measure to prevent further escalation of tensions and maintain law and order.
