BIRATNAGAR, Jan 1: Biratnagar Customs Office has collected only 57 percent of the target revenue set for the month of Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December) of the current fiscal year 2023/24. According to the data of Biratnagar Customs Office, only 57.64 percent of the target revenue has been collected in Mangsir.


Biratnagar Customs Office has collected only Rs 2.453 billion against the target of Rs 4.2511 billion for the month.


Biratnagar Customs Office collected only 47.81 percent of the target revenue in Kartik (mid-October to mid-November).

In Kartik, the customs office collected only Rs 1.913 billion rupees against the target of Rs 4.22 billion revenue collection.


The Biratnagar Customs Office had collected only 60.14 percent of the target revenue in Ashoj (mid-September to mid-October). In Ashoj, Biratnagar Customs collected only Rs 2.915 billion, while the target of revenue collection was Rs 4.847 billions.


In the month of Bhadra (mid-August to mid- September), Biratnagar Customs Office collected 56.81 percent of the target revenue. For the month of Bhadra, only Rs 2.53 billion were collected out of the target of Rs 4.456 billion.


In Shrawan, the Biratnagar Customs Office collected only 81.57 percent of the target revenue.


For the month of Shrawan, the Biratnagar Customs Office had collected only Rs 2.8529 billion against a target of Rs 3.497.6 billion.


Due to the decrease in demand in the domestic market, the customs revenue has also decreased as the international trade through the Biratnagar crossing has been affected. However, there has been some improvement in the revenue collection of Biratnagar Customs Office in Mangsir compared to Kartik.


Since the liquidity is getting easier and the economic activities are increasing in the country, the revenue of the Biratnagar Customs Office has also started showing signs of improvement as the imports started to increase.
