BIRATNAGAR, Aug 17: Nepal Army personnel have been mobilized to clear the runway of Biratnagar airport as it was completely covered by mud and sand due to inundation caused by incessant rainfall. The Biratnagar Airport has shut down its all air services due to runway inundation.
About 200 NA personnel have been mobilized to clear the airport runway with the help of various equipments and are expected to bring the airport back into operation by Saturday.
According to, Suresh Man Shrestha Chief at the Civil Aviation Authority, Biratnagar, they will resume the air services by August 19 if the monsoon favours them. RSS
