KATHMANDU, March 8: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli has said that Bidya Devi Bhandari's role as the first woman president of the country was glorious.

At a program organized by All Nepal Women's Association on the occasion of International Women's Day on Wednesday, Oli said that Bhandari has performed the duties of the president efficiently for seven years.

Oli also said that considering the successful and dignified role of the first term, Bhandari was re-elected as the president. He further said, "Political self-interested people may have done nonsense without respecting the dignity of the high position of the president when their narrow interests were stumbled upon or were not fulfilled. It has no special meaning.”
