Bidhata KC’s ‘Thopaharu’ at GG Macchan

A month-long solo exhibition entitled ‘Thopaharu’ by Bidhata KC is being exhibited at GG Machaan, Pulchowk. The exhibition that began on July 3 features KC’s 18 artworks. The displays are categorized into two interrelated themes: leaves series and travel series.  Explaining the title of the exhibition, Artist KC stated that droplets, Thopaharu, depicted the monsoon season.

Leaves series metaphorically symbolizes the limitations of human lives, whereas travel series represent the discoveries in human life.

In the display, ‘Symbolic Embodiment’ of the leaf series explores human identity among scatter leaves.  “We’re in our journey to explore our identity. In a leaf, its veins spread in the quest to reach to the leaf rim. The edges confine the boundaries of the leaf, marking a point that forbids further exploration; outside the leaf.  However, this doesn’t stop the leaf vein to explore as it continues its journey and spread,” she shared.

On the other hand, ‘Embedded Nothingness’ is based on a travel series that captures the scenic beauty of Mustang. “I have come to realize the hidden meaning of the life after traveling. There are life and meaning in every being, including stones and wall,” she shared.

The exhibition brings the artist’s entire journey of the exploration of outside and oneself is slated to continue till July 31.
