KATHMANDU, April 16: The Bibeksheel Sajha Party led by Rabindra Mishra has fielded women candidates for both the posts of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC).
Samiksha Baskota and Kirti Tuladhar have been nominated for the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor from the party, respectively.

At the press conference organized in the capital today, a ‘commitment letter’ for the election of KMC has also been made public on behalf of both the candidates. Stating that there are many problems in Kathmandu metropolis, Mayoral candidate Baskota said that the declaration letter has been made public to solve all the problems with the suggestions of experts.
Banskota also claimed that the development and construction works of Kathmandu will move forward rapidly if they secure a victory in the upcoming local-level election.
The ‘commitment letter’ emphasizes on corruption control, good governance, effective service delivery, education, health and social security and protection of Newa art and culture, provision of electric transport, and cleaning of rivers, wells, lakes and streams.
