CHAUTARA, July 9: Three more houses were swept away by the swollen Bhotekoshi River at Liping Bazaar of Tatopani VDC today.
The river swept away three concrete buildings and Ncell tower, said Inspector Khumlal Bhusal of Border Police Office, Kadari. The river has already swept away 60 houses after it began swelling with monsoon triggered downpour.
Tatopani VDC Secretary, Dambar Bahadur Shrestha, said the locals along with government officials have been working all day and seeking safe shelter at night. The river has cut off the highway at multiple sections which now resemble steep cliffs.
The local administration has warned the locals to remain careful as the river is rapidly making its way to the settlement. RSS
