BHOJPUR, June 28: Transport entrepreneurs in Bhojpur have announced the closure of their services for an indefinite period, stating poor road conditions during rain and negligence of contractors in upgrading the Leguwa-Bhjoupur roadway.

With this announcement, the entire traffic services except ambulance service in the district are closed from Tuesday.

Transport entrepreneur Gopal Tamang said they had to shut down the services as contractors have piled up construction materials on multiple segments of Leguwa-Bhojpur route in the name of blacktopping it.

Such haphazard storage of construction materials on roadsides has made the vehicular movement really difficult mainly in this rainy season, he said.
Meanwhile, Bhojpur Chief District Officer Arjun Kumar Sharma pledged to take all possible measures to reopen the transport service.

However, the closure of transport services in the eastern hilly district where flights are also not regular is sure to hit the people hard.
Similarly, the Pasanglhyamu Highway has remained disrupted since last night as landslides triggered by rain hit it in two locations.

According to District Police Chief Aawadesh, the landslides blocked the highway at Mulkharka of Ramche VDC-1 and near Rasuwagadi of Timure VDC-1. With this, the Keyirong trade route between Nepal and China has also remained closed.

Efforts are on in cooperation with the Road Division Office to remove the debris and resume the traffic services, Rasuwa's Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Adhikari said. RSS
