KATHMANDU, July 5: Bhanubhakta Memorial Secondary School has got its alumni led by business tycoon Rajesh Kaji Shrestha.
According to Shrestha, they have formed the union marking the 60th anniversary of the school and the 50th batch of its participation in the school leaving certificate (SLC) examination. Shrestha is the first SLC batch student of the school located in Panipokhari, Kathmandu. He is also the former State Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies and immediate past president of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce.

Shrestha said a gathering of former students of the school announced a nine-member ad hoc committee of Bhanubhakta Alumni Association (BAA). According to him, the association aims to carry out innovative works along with promoting the network of the school’s former students.
Harsha Sagar Tuladhar has been voted as the vice-president, Navin Kumar Verma as general secretary and Punita Rimal as treasurer. The BAA has got Kapil Lohani, Ashish Bhadra Khanal, Sunila Singh Gorkhaly, Manoj K Dhungana and Vishwas Khatiwada as its members.
Likewise, Thakur Prasad Sharma, Bidhya Sagar Tuladhar and Sanatan Regmi are among the advisors of the alumni. The school’s principal Ishwori Dhungana holds the position of the guest advisor.
The school established in 1966 had its first batch of SLC pass-out students in 1977. Over the period, over 7,000 students have graduated from the school.
