KATHMANDU, Jan 3: CPN-UML Senior Vice Chairman of the CPN (UML) Ishwor Pokharel launched his book ‘Aama, Sapana Ra Taraharu’ on Friday at the Nepal Academy Hall in Kathmandu. The event saw former President Bidya Devi Bhandari, UML Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali, Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma, and others in attendance.
While Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli was absent, former President Bhandari served as the chief guest.
Hamro Kitab: For the book-loving society
In his remarks, Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma advised Bhandari to remain a social hero and refrain from re-entering active politics. However, it is believed that Bhandari intends to return to active party politics. She renewed her party membership last April, which she had given up after becoming president.
Reports suggest that Bhandari had a two-and-a-half-hour discussion with Prime Minister Oli at Chapali Heights on Thursday, though details remain undisclosed. It is speculated that Pokharel and others have encouraged Bhandari to re-enter politics, making Oli’s absence from the book launch significant.
