Bhagawat religious ceremony collects Rs 1.8 million

BHAKTAPUR, Oct 3: Proceeds Rs 1.8 million has been collected from the Srimad Bhagawat Gyan Mahayagya religious ceremony held at the Jalapadevi temple premises in Nagarkot, Changunarayan Municipality. 

The Srimad Bhagawat Gyan Mahayagya is grand religious ceremony marked by the recitation of the Srimad Bhagawat scriptures and singing of hymns. 

The proceeds would be used for constructing the idols of various goddesses and other infrastructures in the temple premises, according to Hariram Bajgain, president of the Jalapadevi Ramayan Bhagan Sangitkala Kunja. 

It is said construction of the religious infrastructures would require Rs 3.5 million. The extra amount required for construction of the infrastructures would be collected from the municipality and the locals. The mahayagya was organized from September 21 to 25.(RSS)
