BENI (Myagdi), Jan 31: The famed Tatopani Kunda, a hot spring located at Beni Municipality – 13, was closed down for three days beginning Monday.

The hot spring used for natural therapy and treatment was closed at 2 pm. The patients coming for natural hot spring therapy have been diverted towards a Mahayagya, a Hindu ritualistic performance, being held at Saraswoti Secondary School for drawing proceeds for educational and physical infrastructure development, Kunda Management Committee Chairman, Birendraman Shakya shared.

The patients that usually arrive at the hot spring after 2 pm have decided to go instead to the Mahayagya. Mekhi Khatri, who works at the hot spring, said that men and women come to take bath from 6 am to 8 am, 8 am to 10 am, 10 am to 12 at noon and 12 to 2 pm.

The hot spring has separate times allocated for men and women. Bathing at the hot spring is known to treat gastritis, uric acid, backbone ache, skin diseases, ascites disease and goiter among others. RSS
