KATHMANDU, Nov 13: Daari (Beard) Gang has demonstrated on the streets against the countrywide bandh (general strike) called by the Netra Bikram Chand –led CPN (Maoist) calling for ensuring food security.

They have launched a campaign on Facebook. They demonstrated on the street saying that they wanted to end this bandh culture once and for all.

Member of the Beard Gang, Jagdish Bhandari said that they have to demonstrate on the streets against the bandh “because the country is being ruined by the leaders of the political parties.”

The gang had organized a charity show of Nepali film Jatra in the Big Movies but due to the bandh Big Movies was closed.

The countrywide bandh has affected normal life across the nation. Maoist cadres have vandalized vehicles in different parts of the country.  Due to the dearth of public vehicles in the capital, people were forced to walk to reach their destinations.
