TAPLEJUNG, March 6: A bear that broke into Taplejung District Hospital on Thursday evening and was locked inside an empty ward was tranquilized and taken to the District Forest Office (DFO).
A team led by wildlife veterinarian Kiranraj Rijal at the Biodiversity Conservation Center under the National Trust for Nature Conservation tranquilized the bear before taking it to the forest office.

According to Rijal, the captured bear is a himalayan black bear. The bear weighed 70 kilograms and was five feet tall.
The bear, which had strayed into the hospital premises last Thursday evening, was locked in an empty room of the maternity ward by the hospital staff and police .
