`KHOTANG, Dec 8: Former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that the development of local units is possible only when the projects are forcibly implemented.
Bhattarai, who is also the coordinator of the Naya Shakti Party Nepal, said that the local units can implement the development projects only when they follow the bold style once adopted in the Kathmandu Valley while widening the roads.
Speaking at a program organized by the District Coordination Committee at the district headquarters Diktel, Saturday, he suggested to be bold and ruthless to implement the local development projects without listening to the voice of your relatives, party cadres and friends.
Meanwhile, Bhattarai urged the local representatives to concentrate on the implementation of the development works in collaboration with the local people.
He stated that the local development projects have not yet achieved the desired goals due to the lack of proper land-use plan, citing the then Panchayet regime where development could not happen over the lack of land-use policy.
