The loan sharking victims, who were protesting by sitting in Shantibatika, had prepared to demonstrate around the Singha Durbar on Monday. The police also used water cannons and baton-charged the loan sharking victims.

According to eyewitnesses, four to five of the victims were injured by the police batons while some of them were detained by the police.

The injured are being treated at the National Trauma Center. The government had agreed on five points with a group of loan sharking victims on April 1.

However, another group of loan sharking victims has come to the protest in Kathmandu saying that the agreement will not solve the immediate problem of the loan sharking victims.
