Baraili declares candidacy for the post of NRNA-USA's Board of Directors

KATHMANDU, March 20: Purna Singh Baraili has announced his candidacy for the post of Board of Directors of the Non-Resident Nepalese Association-America (NRNA-USA).

Baraili, who is also the founding president of the Nepal American Film Society, announced his candidature for the post of board of directors of NRNA-America for the 2021-2023 tenure.

Baraili said that he would work for the rights and interests of non-resident Nepalis if he was elected to the post. "I have been campaigning for the non-profit Nepal American Film Society and the Nepal American International Film Festival since 2017,” said Baraili. "At the advice of my seniors and the personal request of my friends, I have decided to run for the post."

Baraili said that he would contribute to the NRNA, an umbrella organization of the Nepalis diaspora, with his knowledge and experience as a member of the Board of Directors.

Baraili was previously associated with various social organizations in Nepal. He is the founding secretary of the Jagaran Media Center, the president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists-Lalitpur branch, and the founding president of the Human Rights Film Center.
