KATHMANDU, May 12: The district administration offices of Bara and Arghakhanchi have completely sealed off the districts.

In a notice today, the District Administration Office (DAO), Bara, said that various restrictions have been enforced in the district from this evening.

According to the notice, no vehicles will be allowed to ply the roads from Birgunj of Parsa to Bara, keeping in mind the rising coronavirus cases.

Earlier this afternoon, 39 persons tested positive for coronavirus in Parsa alone while one person was found infected by the deadly virus in Bara district.

A meeting of the Crisis Management Centre under the DAO made a decision to this effect earlier today. The local administration also said that hand-written and electronic passes will not be allowed except in the cases of emergency patients.

The DAO also decided to seal all the entry points to the district from India and suspend the people's movement. People in the district have been prohibited from coming out of their homes unless it is an emergency.

Meanwhile, DAO, Arghakhanchi, said that the district has been sealed off since this morning. A meeting of the District Security Committee took a decision to this effect in view of the rising coronavirus cases in the adjoining Kapilvastu district.

At least eight coronavirus cases were reported in Kapilvastu this afternoon. Kapilvastu has witnessed at least 29 coronavirus cases so far, becoming one of the major hotspots of COVID-19 in recent weeks.
