On May 2, Gautam emailed the memorandum, featuring the names of 59 other UML leaders, demanding that Prime Minister Nepal step down to pave the way for the formation of a national-unity government. [break]
But in his clarification Gautam reiterated that the issues raised by him in the memorandum were correct and relevant. "I will engage in self-criticism only if my views are proved wrong," Gautam told myrepublica.com.
This is the third clarification submitted by him to the party. Dissatisfied with his previous clarifications, the party´s central committee (CC) and central disciplinary commission demanded further explanations from him.
He has conceded that he committed some procedural mistakes while forwarding the memorandum to the party chief.
But the party had directed that Gautam engage in self-criticism, pointing out that his act and remarks were against party policy and practice. Both the CC and the commission had warned of serious action against Gautam if he again failed to furnish convincing explanations.
