HETAUDA, June 16: Bagmati Province has presented a Rs 67.47 billion budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2025/26. Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning, Kundan Raj Kafle, tabled the budget during the provincial assembly session on Sunday evening.
Though he initially stated the budget size as Rs 76 billion, he later corrected himself, clarifying the allocation stood at Rs 67.47 billion. The confusion led to temporary unrest in the session.

The breakdown includes 38.6 percent (Rs 26.04 billion) for recurrent expenses and 61.4 percent (Rs 41.43 billion) for capital expenditure.
The ministry-wise allocation includes Rs 24.80 billion for Physical Infrastructure Development; Rs 7.28 billion for Water Supply, Energy, and Irrigation; Rs 4.35 billion for Social Development; Rs 3.67 billion for Culture and Tourism; Rs 3.96 billion for Health; Rs 3.99 billion for Forests and Environment; Rs 2.63 billion for Agriculture and Livestock; Rs 1.16 billion for Youth and Sports; Rs 870 million for Labour, Employment, and Transport; Rs 770 million for Industry, Commerce, and Land Administration; Rs 250 million for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation; and Rs 620 million for Internal Affairs and Law.
