BAGLUNG, Sept 8: The number of people killed after being swept away by the massive floods in the Bhuji River of Dhorpatan Municipality in Baglung district has reached 17.
The flash flood triggered by incessant rainfall earlier on September 2 washed away more than half a dozen houses lying along the river bank
According to the police, 21 people, who were swept away by the flood, are still missing.
A joint squad of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force personnel has been deployed along the site following the incident. The rescue and search team recovered the mortal remains of a 34-year-old man at the Badigad River in Badigad Rural Municipality-7 on Monday, according to the police.
According to the District Police Office, Baglung, 15 of the 17 dead so far have been identified. Most of the dead bodies were found along the Badigad River into which the Bhuji River drains into.
