KATHMANDU, Aug 14: Police on Sunday arrested nine cadres of the Bibeksheel Party Nepal for demanding property details of the Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Chief Lokman Singh Karki.
The Bibeksheel Party Nepal had filed a petition at the CIAA Office demanding to make property details of the Chief Commissioner Karki public 15 days ago.
The party cadres reached the CIAA Office on Sunday after the office did not unveil the property details of Karki even after two weeks.
“We had filed a petition at the CIAA Office two weeks ago demanding to unveil the property details of Chief Commissioner Karki,” said Bibeksheel Party Nepal leader Milan Pandey,” adding, “We went to the Office again after we did not get any information about it even after two weeks.”
They were even barred from contacting the spokesperson for the CIAA Office.
According to Pandey, the police took them under control on the promises of the CIAA Office.
Police had hauled nine cadres into a vehicle and kept them for one and a half hours before they were released.
