Authorities designate Taulihawa as prohibited zone

KAPILVASTU, Dec 5: The local authorities have designated Taulihawa – the district headquarters of Kapilvastu – as a prohibited zone from 6 am this morning. 

A meeting of the District Security Committee presided over by District Security Committee Chairman and Acting Chief District Officer (CDO), Bharat Kumar Budhathoki, took the decision to invoke the legal provisions related to prohibitory zones on Sunday night. 

The Local Administration has designated the area from District Administration Office (DAO) intersection to Banijya Bank in the east, from Agriculture Development Bank in the north to Mahita Chowk, Andolan Chown in the south, Gaudi Chowk in the west and up to Vichu Chowk as prohibited zones. 

The designation of the prohibited zones were made as per Local Administration Act 2028 Section 6 (3) to forestall the possibility of disruption of peace and security of the district in the wake of strikes, demonstrations, rallies and protest programmes – which has seen effigy of leaders being torched in various parts of the district – after the registration of the constitution amendment bill, Acting CDO Budhathoki shared.
