Aniruddha Chatterjee, regional director of Dow Jones was recently in Kathmandu to attend a conference to discuss about solutions to mitigate money laundering and white-collar crimes. Sagar Ghimire of Republica caught up Chatterjee on the sidelines of the conference to discuss about the risks and vulnerabilities in Nepal's financial system, challenges of compliance, and infrastructure and regulatory setup to curb such crimes, among other issues. KATHMANDU, Feb 8: Siddhartha Bank Ltd has upgraded its Debit, Credit and Prepaid Cards to EMV Chip Card. According to the bank, the bank, now onwards, shall be issuing EMV Chip Card on request of the new cards from the customers.
KHOTANG, Feb 8: Police have arrested a middle-aged man involved in murdering a thirty-year-old woman on Saturday for reportedly refusing to have sex with him. The incident came to light after the police in Khotang district arrested the alleged murderer on Monday, five hours after identifying the body of the woman dumped on a riverside in Bhojpur district.
