As it was in so much of the world, the year 2023 in Nepal was not necessarily “the best of times.” The first weeks of 2023 saw finally the opening of the new Pokhara Regional International Airport but then sadly the crash of a Yeti Airlines flight en route to that airport, killing all 72 on board. Economic indicators remain relatively poor and out-migration continues as Nepalis seek jobs abroad.
